Pots and Palettes
For many years, my youngest son teased me relentlessly about my titles and captions for photographs. More often than not, I went with something like Nature’s Bounty for a photo of fall foliage. And he referred to my captions as Hallmark-like. He was right.
As much as I love taking pictures, I find the naming of photos to be a job. Ought the title to be clever? Funny? Descriptive? Evocative? Or should I use the artistic, Untitled? The reasoning for Untitled might be to leave interpretation open to the viewer, and this argument has merit. But, if I am truthful, Untitled usually just means I have no idea what to call a particular picture.
Maybe the pictures can speak for themselves?
