This is the Autumnal Equinox.

We ride around the point of our home town, cruising along the border of the small peninsula. We don’t know what to make of the changes. A real estate boom in the small town where we graduated in classes of thirty students. Work boats replaced with yachts. Family homes now dwarfed by riverside mansions. Full access beaches now dotted with paid parking spaces. I try not to feel sad but there is a heaviness in my heart that I cannot shake.
