Artistic discipline and athletic discipline are kissing cousins, they require the same thing, an unspecial practice: tedious and pitch-black invisible, private as guts, but always sacred. –Leanne Shapton
I was driving through downtown, preparing to park and take my daily walk, when I spied this lovely woman wearing vibrant leggings, hanging upside down from the bars along the arches under the train bridge. I circled back and sat in the car trying to work up the courage to ask if I might take a picture. (There has been a lot of this working up of courage over the past year!).
Many thanks to Ashleigh of Namaste Fit Life for this incredible pose and her kindness in permitting me to make and share this picture. She is a personal trainer and yoga instructor. She and her family own a small business that makes custom-designed fitness apparel. They are devoted to well-being, movement, and service – all while wearing fancy pants! Their story makes me happy all over.
Ashleigh was right. The universe always delivers.
