While strolling through a local art gallery, this scene drew my attention. I am always fascinated by shape, form and color – especially in terms of function. As a physical therapist, I learned that form and function are inseparable, such that we are shaped by the functions required of our bodies.
For many years, it seemed my purpose was productivity. I measured my worth by items crossed off my to-do list, and it affected my form, leaving me with aches and pains and anxiety. It’s time to find a better way to measure my worth, and to recognize that while I may exist in this form, at this time, a new purpose will change my form.
