In my photography class at the Visual Arts Center, our assignment for this week is Vernacular Photography - seeking out the ordinary. The instructor encouraged us to look for beautiful light streaming into a room, a particular moment during our day, a feeling we want to express. This is an incredibly difficult assignment for me. I tend toward perfectionism, often overlooking the beauty in my immediate surroundings, especially my own home. But I persevered. The is the view from my bed, the one I fall asleep to every night, the one I wake up to each morning.
