It’s a big change, thinking in terms of a picture a day. Because photography time, in the past, tended to be scheduled – as in Let’s go for a ride and take some pictures – I often took as many pictures as I could, not knowing when the next opportunity would arise. A kind of overshooting or more is more philosophy. This practice left me with hours of editing, sitting in front of a computer, which I do not find enjoyable.
Now, I experience a great sense of peace in making a personal photograph each day. This is not to say that I take only one picture, but I aim for one image that moves me deeply. And stop there. Less is more. And each day, I find that my joy for this project grows because I can feel it changing me. And change is growth and growth is creativity.
