One of the best things about a personal project is that you get to make up the rules as you go along. And so, I am going to make two entries on this one day.
I love to bring together photographs to make simple, clean collages. Like a little kid who has just discovered play-doh or glitter, I can't get enough of this process. Balancing light and shadow-filled images, relative weights, subject matter, color, mood, and message . . . like pieces of a puzzle within a frame . . . I bring together pictures and permit them to connect. The result often surprises me.
This collage is a little of me (my front door, my soap and rosebud salve), a little of my friend Candice (on her way down the stairs from her home office), and a little of the country road adventures we both crave (an old station wagon would be perfect transportation).
