Finding my voice and as a photographer, I’ve learned I love the connections with people and places. Some pictures require the maker to take a step back, to observe and document. I prefer the pictures where I am part of the process, more up-close and personal. My favorite photographs are the ones where I feel as though I can walk into the image and lose myself in the emotions, the colors, and the textures.
I just added a wide angle lens (Canon 10-22 mm) to my camera bag. Walked around downtown – practice, practice, practice. Came home and read a few articles on using a wide angle lens, and practiced some more. A work in progress. In the meantime, I am happy to see murals popping up in downtown Fredericksburg. Our historic little town is mostly neutral colored, and a little vibrancy goes a long way. I’ve never met Mirinda Reynolds, but I admire her murals that make ordinary spaces interesting, challenging and often beautiful. Enjoyed the view today - an accessible art gallery for everyone.
