I had so much fun yesterday. I went to the Fall Makery Workshop & Dinner hosted by food writer Erin Simpson Lozier, at the beautiful Stevenson Ridge.

The Fall Makery was a gathering devoted to learning, creating and sharing. We learned how to make flaky, delicious apple pies from scratch, crafted a beautiful beaded necklace, and enjoyed a home-cooked meal.

Leaving the Makery, I had a sweet feeling of anticipation for the upcoming holidays. Small things like a homemade pie make all the difference. As I loaded the car with my take-home pie, party favors of freshly roasted coffee, a pottery snowflake ornament and an original coloring page, I felt warm despite the chilly night air. Friends and good food will do that for you.
