I asked a young woman, sitting in a plush orange chair in a coffee shop if I could take her picture. I politely explained my project. And she politely rejected the offer. She was kind about it, saying she loved the project but preferred not to be photographed.
This was good practice for me. There’s bound to be rejection.
By way of recovery, I did three things.
First, I had a cup of coffee and a small chocolate cake truffle at The Raven’s Nest.
Second, I took a picture of these glass mannequin heads in The Cameleer which sort of felt like good training.
Third, I stopped in The Original Hope Company and asked friend/owner Cam if I could take her picture which felt like a good way to bounce back.
Cam doesn’t count as a stranger, but I’m grateful for the practice.
