There are small everyday moments that make me happy.
Like when I am driving along Princess Anne Street and I see the lovely floral designer, Jane Guerin, loading dozens of red flowers into her car. I pull over and ask to take a picture.
Because really, how can I not?
And Jane, with gracious Southern kindness, says, “Yes, of course.” Because she knows I love flowers as much as she does.
We talk for a few moments. She is taking the flowers to St. George’s Episcopal Church where she will arrange them to adorn the sanctuary where six new priests will be ordained. Jane is charming and humble, but I know the magic she will create with the flowers. She breathes love and life into her creations. She creates atmosphere with flowers.
I inhale the scent and I wish I could lie on a bed of these rich red petals.
